6. Jack Colback
The midfielder arrived at the club expecting to avoid relegation battles, but boy was he wrong! Colback offers a good work rate, but lacks true quality. However, as with any successful team, you need the grafters who will break up the play and complete the 'ugly' tasks. If the Geordie-born star can form a decent partnership with Jonjo Shelvey, then his career on Tyneside may yet prove to be a success - even if they must take a huge step backwards first. Currently ahead of Vurnon Anita and Henri Saivet in the pecking order, it would be very surprising if Colback wasn't part of the starting line-up in a Championship Newcastle United side.
