3. Pep Guardiola
Pep Guardiola, the ex-Barcelona manager is also in the running to be United's next manager. The 41-year-old is currently unemployed after leaving Barcelona this summer after the first trophy-less season in his 4 year tenure. Many people see Guardiola as the ideal candidate, he is young and is a winner. He is Barcelona through and through and spear-headed a team many hailed as the best ever. Under Guardiola's guidance, Barcelona won 3 consecutive La Liga titles, 2 Champions League's and domestic trophy after domestic trophy. He has managed the biggest names in world football, Lionel Messi, David Villa, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andres Iniesta, Xavi and Thierry Henry to name but a few. Currently on a years sabbatical from football, Guardiola is being touted as Ferguson's successor. He was only 37 when he won his first Champions League and became the youngest ever manager to do so. Guardiola would prove to be a popular choice from United fans as they know how he likes football to be played. The attractive tic-tac passing of Barcelona would be replicated at United under the man who originally enforced it, and that certainly would be welcomed with open arms.
