NFL Draft 2013: Full Mock Draft Of The First Round

No. 24: Indianapolis Colts

DJ HaydenThe pick: D.J. Hayden, CB, Houston The Colts continue the new regime of post-Manning with their continual re-loading of talent through the draft and letting veterans walk in free agency. Their defense was pretty good in 2012 and ultimately, the team surpassed all expectations, as they went from 2-14 to 11-5 and winning a wild card spot in the 2012 AFC Playoffs. This year, they won't surprise as many people and will look to build off Year 1 with Andrew Luck into Year 2. They could look to draft offense, but I think with Chuck Pagano, defense could be an option the team looks to add early on, which is why D.J. Hayden is here. He's got red flags because he tore a vein in his heart back in November and nearly died from the tragic event. However, Pagano has dealt with his own adversities and knows what it's like to stare death in the face, which might end up turning him onto this kind of pick. A good character guy for a n extremely high-character organization.
