NFL: Which 5 Teams Had The Best Draft?

4. Minnesota Vikings

Cordarrelle Patterson As mentioned earlier, Sharrif Floyd's fall in the draft was one of the biggest stories of the first round. Floyd was commonly mocked to the Oakland Raiders at the third pick, so needless to say, the Vikings landed a huge steal when they took Floyd with their first round pick at #23. Two picks later, the Vikings stole Xavier Rhodes, a physical cornerback who will help make up for the absence of Antoine Winfield. Just when it looked as though the Vikings were done in the first round, they traded back in to grab wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, who many believed was the most talented receiver in this draft. In the first round alone, the Vikings addressed many areas of need with many talented players who dropped, making all three of these men great value picks. Later in the draft, the Vikings also selected two linebackers in Gerald Hodges and Mike Mauti, who could prove to be steals in time. Minnesota's roster became much more talented after this draft, and after making the playoffs last year, don't be surprised to see them return, and perhaps advance even farther.
