3. Arizona Cardinals
With the Cardinals first pick at #7, they decided to roll with a guard, choosing Jonathan Cooper. This pick immediately got a lot of criticism since guards usually don't go that high, but can you blame this team? The Cardinals offensive line was horrendous, getting beaten almost every play. With the three best offensive tackles gone, the Cardinals had to choose the best guard in the draft, and I don't blame them for a second. After that pick, Arizona landed some unbelievable value. Kevin Minter will help the linebackers immensely with Darryl Washington suspended, and Tyrann Mathieu was a bargain in the third round. Alex Okafor, a defensive end/linebacker who was a first round prospect to many, was also selected to help the Cardinals' pass rush. Ryan Swope should contribute at wide receiver, and Stepfan Taylor, as well as Andre Ellington, will add a much needed jolt of energy to the running back group in Arizona. With Carson Palmer now at quarterback, and this draft class being one of the best, expect the Cardinals to be a playoff contender this year.
