Premier League 2017/18: Every Away And Third Kit Ranked
1. Huddersfield ('Red')
It might seem like contention for contention's sake, or a strident act of non-conformity, but despite almost everybody in the Anglosphere declaring Huddersfield's 'red' kit as a hellish abomination, I'm quite convinced it's the best away kit of the season.
Ignore the previous point with regards to Huddersfield's away shirt ambiguity; the sheer brilliance of this alternative apologises for that. An homage to the Terriers' 'electric stripe' away kit of 1991 - one which regularly polls in 'Worst Kits Ever' lists - it's impossible to see how this faithful recreation is anything but a thing of beauty.
Firstly, the tongue-in-cheek irony of it all is welcoming, given the super-seriousness with which clubs launch what are effectively w**nky bits of polyester these days. Secondly, it entirely conforms to the well-established rule that away kits are blank canvasses for unhinged creativity, not tedious black mood pieces.
It's not "so bad, it's good" good: It's just good. No, seriously.
