8. Dimitar Berbatov (Manchester United to Fulham)
Many people will remember the last day of the transfer window in 2008, when Manchester United sealed the signing of Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham, in a deal widely quoted to be worth £30.75 million. Those days now seem long gone to the Bulgarian who found himself frozen out at Old Trafford this season despite scoring 48 goals in 108 games, and being their top scorer the season before last. Berbatov has been a man in demand in the past few days, and was even supposed to have boarded a flight to Italy before he was made aware of Fulham's interest. Perhaps the lure to work with former manager Martin Jol was too good to turn down, however he will not have made himself many friends for his behaviour leading up to this move, that is reminiscent of his behaviour that forced through his move to United four years ago. It even led to Fiorentina releasing a statement critisizing Berbatov's conduct. It read:
"We are happy he did not come to Fiorentina...He did not deserve our city and our shirt and the values it represents."
Although the Italian's may not be pleased, supporters of the Premier League should be. A proven goalscorer wherever he has been, Berbatov may be one of the buys of the window.
