Premier League Transfers: 10 Championship Players Teams Should Buy

2. Ben Gibson (Middlesbrough)

It would be something of a shock if Ben Gibson is still playing in the Championship next season. The Middlesbrough man has been courted by some of the top teams in England in the past and has been linked with the likes of Everton and Leicester so far this summer.

The 25-year-old, who is actually the nephew of Boro's owner Steve Gibson, has been far and away one of the team's best performers in recent years, even getting a call-up to the England squad for a World Cup qualifier last year. A mainstay in the Middlesbrough lineup last season, Gibson once again demonstrated his excellent defensive abilities to help his side make it to the playoffs.

Back in the 2016-17 season, he showed he could handle the pace of the Premier League and deserves to be playing at the top level. Valued between £20 and 30 million, Gibson was once being touted for inclusion in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad and needs to be playing at a higher level if he wants to start knocking on the England manager's door.
