QPR's Joey Barton Determined To Disappoint Manchester City

Although he spent a total of 10 years playing for the club, his longest ever time at one club, he’s looking to dent their title hopes and make City fans wait longer than 44 years.

Football fans all over the country are predicting that Manchester City will crush QPR and win the Premier League title for the first time this weekend. Whilst Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admits City have €œtwo hands on the title€, former City player Joey Barton has other ideas. Barton spent five senior years at the club, totalling 130 appearances and scoring 15 goals for the blue side of Manchester. He began his Manchester City career in the youth team, aged 17. Although he spent a total of 10 years playing for the club, his longest ever time at one club, he€™s looking to dent their title hopes and make City fans wait longer than 44 years. In an interview with Sky Sports the former Manchester City and Newcastle United player said:
"They expect us to turn up and them to probably stuff us and win the league. If that is their attitude, they will get a reality check. It's 11 men against 11; there is a lot of pressure out there. I can't wait for it."
Whilst Barton€™s claims are optimistic the last time the teams met was earlier this season, the match finished 3-2 to the travelling Blues. QPR are currently standing 17th in the table, a loss at the Eithad stadium could see them regulated whilst a point will see Manchester United retain the title and will see them saved from relegation (unless Bolton win +11). Barton expects a nervous game for City and this amazing season could finish with another twist.
