Two Rangers players scored 5 goals in a game (a glut) during the SPL era, and their identities will come as no surprise to most. Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd scored theirs 9 years apart. 5 goals in a game is a record which the two Ibrox men share with Gary Hooper.

Kenny Miller netted his in a 7-1 demolition of St. Mirren in November, the highlight being his first. A gorgeous lobbed volley from a corner which sailed over the heads of St Mirren's defence and left their 'keeper standing.

Boyd's was a record breaker in itself, being the game in which he surpassed Henrik Larsson's goalscoring record (more on that later). The scoreline was once again 7-1, only this time against Dundee United who capitulated when faced with Boyd's goalscoring prowess. It wasn't the first time he had put 5 past Dundee United in a single game having done it earlier in his career during his first spell at Kilmarnock.
