Should moves for De Gea and Courtois fail, Real could do much worse than take their goalkeeper search to Italy, and more specifically Milan, home of 19-year-old shot-stopping whizz Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Admittedly he is, at the present time, nowhere near as polished as either of the two Premier League options. His distribution, for instance, still needs plenty of work (and perhaps even more so if he were to play in La Liga).

But his potential is absolutely huge. We're talking here about a guy who has made over 100 appearances for one of the biggest clubs in Europe before his 20th birthday. He's in a league of his own when it comes to goalkeeping prospects in 2018.

Happily (from a Real point of view), he might also be available this summer. His parent club may have tied him to a new contract last year, but a lack of serious progress on the pitch could convince him to hand in another transfer request.
