Scotland It is nice to see Scotland back on track. They have been a long time in the wilderness of international rugby and are equal with Wales in scoring the most tries in the 2013 Six Nations so far. Perhaps, the most surprising aspect of Scotland's 2013 campaign is that they still have an outside chance of winning the tournament.
Greig Laidlaw (Scrum-Half/Fly-Half)
Greig Laidlaw is certainly a big part of Scotland's current revival. He's unusual for a modern day rugby player as he is a couple of inches short of 6 foot and doesn't weigh more than 14 stone. Laidlaw's size (or lack of) is one of his assets as it means he can move quickly and can get into tight try scoring positions as he did against Wales in last year's Six Nations. http://youtu.be/IPNXF1J2Zu4 Of course, Laidlaw's greatest asset is his versatility which will be a factor in any decision making for the Lions. He started his career at Scrum-Half as an understudy to Mike Blair. In 2012, Dan Parks' sudden retirement after the opening match left Scotland without a reliable kicker. Laidlaw duly stepped up to the plate; scoring all of Scotland's points against Wales and 33 of Scotland's 56 point tournament total. Recently Laidlaw has been moved back to Scrum-Half where he has a quick delivery and an impressive box kick. He still takes the kicks for Scotland even with competition from fully fledged Fly-Halves such as Ruaridh Jackson and Duncan Weir.
