Samir Nasri Moves From Arsenal To Manchester City in £20 Million Deal

Arsenal have confirmed they have reached a deal with Manchester City for their wantaway midfielder Samir Nasri.

Updated: Reports now say the deal is worth £24 million. Just one day before Arsene Wenger endures one of the defining games of his whole career against Udinese in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier - a game said to be worth £25 million to the victors - Arsenal have confirmed they have reached a deal with Manchester City for their wantaway midfielder Samir Nasri. The deal is thought to be priced around £20 million and comes just two weeks after the sale of The Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona and just one week before the end of the transfer window. Having trained with Arsenal this morning, Nasri is now travelling to the Eithad Stadium to secure personal terms and to undergo a medical... all formalities at this stage for a player who only had one year left on his deal. Club statement;
"Arsenal can confirm that they have agreed terms for Samir Nasri to move to Manchester City. "The 24-year-old midfielder, who has spent three years with the Gunners, has been omitted from Arsenal's squad which flies to Udinese this afternoon and instead will travel north for a medical. "The move will be subject to Nasri passing a medical and formal registration processes."
Just where does Arsene Wenger turn to now for replacements to his vastly depleted midfield, especially with Gervinho, Alex Song, Emmanuel Frimpong still suspended in the Premier League for their next game against Manchester United on Sunday and with Jack Wilshire's fitness uncertain? There's no denying Arsenal have the cash now to significantly boost their squad... but will Wenger get his chequebook out? He has to, surely... but at the moment all eyes will be on tomorrow night's Champions League encounter which in it's own way is as big as last season's game against Barcelona.
