Sacked Cardiff manager Malky Mackay is the bookmaker's favourite to take over at Southampton should Mauricio Pochettino quit this week. Mackay was controversially axed by the Bluebirds late last year after rowing with owner Vincent Tan over the club's transfer policy, ultimately being squeezed out by the Malaysian. His sacking, like Andre Villas-Boas's, evoked sympathy from certain quarters especially as he had guided Cardiff into the Premier League for the first time in the Welsh club's history. Famously beating Manchester City 3-2, his Cardiff teams played with fearlessness and brass and captivated the imagination, finishing top of the Championship last season. Popular with the fans, Mackay may be a lot of people's first choice replacement if it comes to replacing Pochettino, and the Scotsman may well jump at another chance to manage in the topflight. Do you think Mauricio Pochettino will quit? Who should replace him? Let us know in the vomment section, below.
