Sports Personality Of The Year 2013: Ranking The Big Contenders

2. Chris FroomeFroome Surely we can't have a third cyclist win Sports Personality of the Year in a row can we? Well, why not? Chris Froome stormed to victory in this year's Tour De France, and some argue that it was only because of defending champion Sir Bradley Wiggins' withdrawal from the race, but Froome dominated and probably would have given Wiggo a run for his money, I'm sure we will find out for certain next year. 2012 was a funny year for Sports Personality of the Year, with the majority of the shortlist having competed, and won, at the Olympics, including Wiggins, but Mark Cavendish won it in 2011 without even winning the biggest cycling race in the world, never mind an Olympic medal. So on that basis, the next entry has to be the clear favorite to win this year, but Froome is another example of a perfect winner for such a prestigious award and should not be ruled out.
