1. Master The Europa League/Premier League Balance
As a result of Tottenham's inability to sustain Champions League football, they have had to contend with playing in the Europa League. The toll of playing the additional games this competition has, compared to a Champions League participating team, on top of playing both Thursday and Sunday most week places a strain on a team's squad. Tottenham have played in this competition more than any other English side and it has certainly impacted on their league performance and it is something Pochettino will have to contend with this season. Competing on multiple fronts is a challenge the Argentine has yet to encounter in his managerial career. It requires good squad rotation, tactical insight and adjustment and man-management skills in order to get the best out of his players and to compete in all competitions. With the Europa League now giving the winners a Champions League spot from next season, the board will want Tottenham to challenge in this competition. If he can get the balance of competing in both competitions with a short turnaround between games, he will be able to make Tottenham a serious force next season. What do you think? Have we missed anything off this list? What does Mauricio Pochettino need to do to make Spurs a contender next season? Let us know in the comments below.
