Many expected this deal to be completed today, and now the BBC is reporting that Ryan Sessegnon is officially a Tottenham Hotspur player.

The 19-year-old left-sided player joins Spurs from Fulham in a deal worth an initial £25 million, with the fee rising to £30 million based on performance-related add-ons. Spurs midfielder Josh Onomah has moved to Craven Cottage as part of the deal.

England U21 international Sessegnon joins Mauricio Pochettino’s men on a five-year contract that also has the option of a sixth year.

This morning it was reported that Sessegnon was one of the four players who could end up signing for Tottenham by the time the transfer deadline approaches at 5pm today.

Where those others players are concerned, Real Betis midfielder Giovani lo Celso arrived in London earlier today to finalise his £55 million move. Unfortunately for Spurs, though, Juventus made a last-minute U-turn and decided against selling Paulo Dybala – despite a fee in the £65 million range being agreed with the London club. Then there’s Nice right-back Youcef Atal, on which all seems to have gone eerily quiet.

Sessegnon joins Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele and Leeds’ Jack Clarke in joining Spurs this season – although young winger Clarke has returned to Elland Road on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.
