Spurs Transfer News: Gareth Bale Requests Real Madrid Move

Teamtalk). The 24-year-old Welshman will sit out of Spurs' next pre-season friendly match in Hong Kong against South China FC in the Barclays Asia Trophy, as he continues to recover from a knock he sustained in training. Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas had hoped that he could field Bale in his next team-sheet but instead Bale must sit on the sidelines as rumours regarding his future continue to be played out in the press. News this week emerged that Bale's agent was in talks with the White Hart Lane club over a new contract at Tottenham, but no agreement has been reached as of yet. He is currently contracted at Tottenham until 2016. In Marca's latest reports, dialogue from a conversation involving Bale and Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy was printed. Bale reportedly told Levy;

"I'm not interested in Manchester United or any other team. I just want to play for Madrid."
Reports in Spain claimed earlier in the week that Bale had agreed a six-year deal at the Bernabeu. Andre Villas-Boas said on Friday regarding attempts to extended his stay at White Hart Lane;
"There was contact between the club and his agent last year and there is ongoing contact between the club and his agent. "We renewed his contract at the beginning of last season, if you remember, and it's something that is being dealt with by the chairman and the agent. "Talks are ongoing but that doesn't mean there is an agreement. At the moment we're confident that the player is under contract at Tottenham, as was done last year. "It's something that we're speaking about, but there aren't any developments."
