Spurs Transfer News: Tottenham Won't Talk To Real Madrid Until New Gareth Bale Bid Is Made
Daily Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy and owner Joe Lewis are not prepared to continue any discussions with Real Madrid regarding Gareth Bale until the Spanish side increase their offer. The La Liga side have already offered £80 million for the Welshman and whilst talks have been ongoing, Spurs are now demanding a bigger transfer fee before the discussions go any further. The London based club are said to be angered and upset by the way Real Madrid have gone about the deal and are now standing firm regarding the pursuit of the winger. Madrid and other players surrounding the club have openly praised the 24-year-old, causing disruption within the Spurs camp. It is unclear whether a deal which actually be done now especially with Spurs manager, Andre Villas-Boas, claiming that Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, was wrong to speak about Bale so publicly. With Bale having already waved goodbye to his fellow teammates as they continued their pre-season without him, the interest from Madrid has clearly disrupted the PFA Player and Young player of the year preparation for the new season. Gareth Bale is set to have his heart set on a move to Madrid and despite the Spanish giants already having Cristiano Ronaldo, Di Maria, Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema as the main attacking players, Bale remains confident that a move to Spain would be beneficial to him.
