Spurs Transfers: 10 January Replacements For Roberto Soldado
6. Wilfried Bony (Swansea City)
Spurs were linked to Bony over the summer. When the Lilywhites did three lots of business with his club Swansea City - signing Ben Davies and Michel Vorm and selling Gylfi Sigurdsson to the Swans - it seemed likely that the deal might be done, as relations were obviously good between the two sides. Of course, Swansea also went on to sign Bafétimbi Gomis to ease the blow of Bonys potential sale and it looked a near certainty that he would leave the club. However, he is still there now. The Ivorian cost Swansea £12 million when he joined from Eredivisie side Vitesse in 2013, having he scored 46 goals in 65 league appearances in the Eredivisie, and it is believed he would command at least £20 million if he was to leave the club now. He impressed beyond everyones wildest expectations, scoring 25 goals in all competitions in his first season, sixteen of which came in the Premier League. He has already scored twice this season in the Premier League too. Moreover, at this summers World Cup, Bony scored twice hitting the back of the net against both Japan and Greece in the group stage.
