Spurs Transfers: 5 Reasons Jermain Defoe Moving To Toronto Is A Good Idea

5. The Move May Get The Player On The Plane To Brazil

Jermain Defoe has done an excellent job for his side in Europe this season by scoring five goals, but that fine form hasn't allowed him to get much of a chance in the Premier League. The problem to a large extent is style that Spurs use, and the fact that Defoe isn't suited to playing as a lone striker. A move away from the cub in January was expected given the lack of league action he has been involved in. It's an obvious point that he needs regular games in order to have a realistic chance of going to the World Cup, and he should now be assured of that.
