Spurs Transfers: 7 Players They Should Have Signed With The Bale Money
Hindsight is, of course, a wonderful thing, but it's fair to say that Spurs' seven summer 2013 signings haven't really set the world alight - or even hit the ground running in most cases - since they arrived at White Hart Lane. When Gareth Bale departed North London to head for Real Madrid, he left a gaping hole at both Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and in the Premier League as a whole. He was a fantastic player for Spurs, single-handedly earning them points when it seemed like there were none and winning games almost by himself. However, the near £86 million that his sale brought to White Hart Lane was something of a consolation for fans. The prospect of bringing in a number of quality players to replace him and make the Spurs squad stronger as a whole could have been a blessing in disguise - but it wasn't. In this article, we're going to take a look at the players Spurs should have signed, instead of Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Vlad Chiriches to lead their charge for Premier League glory (this isn't to say that all seven of those players can't go on to be a success at Spurs, however). Here are the seven players Spurs should have signed with the Gareth Bale money...
