Spurs Transfers: 7 Players They Should Have Signed With The Bale Money
7. Christian Eriksen
Christian Eriksen is the one player from the seven Spurs signed last summer who has impressed a great deal and whom Spurs should have no regrets about signing at all. The Danish international playmaker was signed from Ajax in the Netherlands for a bargain fee of £11.5 million and has gone from strength to strength in the Lilywhites' colours - particularly coming in to his own in the latter half of the season. After initially struggling to hold down a first team place under Andre Villas-Boas, he has become a key player under Tim Sherwood. He has scored seven Premier League goals, ten goals in total and his set-pieces - both in terms of crossing delivery and shooting threat - have become an integral part of the occasional successes that Tottenham have experienced this year. Unsurprisingly, his form and Spurs' failure to qualify for the Champions League has garnered attention from clubs around Europe - with the likes of Juventus and Borussia Dortmund reportedly keeping tabs on the Dane - but Spurs will be desperate to keep hold of him and build their team around the talisman for next season as they seek to improve on an underwhelming current campaign.
