Manchester City's season has been defined by an inability to see certain matches out - a trait their city rivals United have mastered - and, as epitomised in this match by their seven minute implosion, it is one of the main reasons that they are now out of the title race. Spurs' season has been defined by inconsistency mixed in with a new found sense of determination and grit. Beating the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and now Manchester City, whilst losing to the likes of Wigan, Fulham and Newcastle, but showing more bite than in previous seasons regardless of the results. City need to avoid falling apart like this if they want to regain the title next season, while if Spurs can perform like this more regularly, they could be competing at the top next year as well.
