Sunderland 0-1 Fulham: Player Ratings

Sunderland

Keiren Westwood: One shot to deal with though really the defence should have dealt with the cross. 5/10Ondrej Celustka: A strong debut from the Czech Republic international who came close to scoring what would have been a beauty. 7/10John O'Shea: Held firm in the central of defence as usual but his passing and distribution still needs work. 6/10Valentin Roberge: A surprise starter, but the surprise proved positive: composed, confident and determined. 7/10Jack Colback: Naturally another assured performance at left-back and started to attack the Fulham defence well, like an attacking full-back should. 7/10Adam Johnson: One of his best games in a Sunderland shirt by far; he looked aggressive, determined and creative also linking up well with Emanuele Giaccherini. 8/10Cabral: Very strong in midfield and controlled the centre of it perfectly, but his shooting needs a lot of work. 7/10Sebastian Larsson: Not a natural central-midfielder but played well alongside Cabral, should have done better from certain set-pieces. 6/10Emanuele Giaccherini: A fine debut for the winger and he brought a touch of class to the side, there's a lot more to come from him. 7/10Stephane Sessegnon: He had a brief 15 minute spell of dominance in the first half but his ability disappeared in the second-half. 5/10Jozy Altidore: He showed that he has improved massively since his time at Hull City, despite not getting on the score sheet. 7/10Substitutions: Ji Dong-Won (72nd minute for Sessegnon) 6, Connor Wickham (86th minute for Celustka.) 5/10 Click next for Fulham's ratings...
