Sunderland Next Manager: 5 Candidates To Replace Paolo Di Canio

1. Gus Poyet

gus poyet Gus Poyet is favourite for the Sunderland job and has held talks with the North East club about taking over at the Stadium of Light, according to Sky sources. The former Brighton boss has always been among the front-runners to replace Paolo Di Canio and has had his name linked with the vacancy since last Monday. Poyet has enjoyed success as a manager already having guided Brighton & Hove Albion into the Championship in 2011 and being voted League One Manager of the Year that same season. But he was unceremoniously axed by the Seagulls amid high controversy over claims that he has breached his contract. Since then, the Uruguayan has been working as a television pundit for such shows as Match of the Day but will in all likelihood find himself back in a dugout before the end of the week. Who do you think should replace Paolo Di Canio? Is Gus Poyet the right man for the job? Let us know in the comment section, below.
