Sunderland Striker Sets 15-Goal Target For The Season
Lens aiming to hit the ground running.
Sunderland new boy Jeremain Lens is hoping to top his best ever goalscoring season by sailing past the 15-goal milestone in his debut season with Sunderland. The 27-year-old is clearly not lacking in confidence, and will be deployed on the left side of a front three, his ideal position, where he will be given the freedom to cut into the box and increase the Black Cat's attacking threat. His £8.5 million move from Dynamo Kyiv has gone down well with the fans on Wearside, and plugs the biggest hole in the lineup ahead of the new campaign, with just three weeks to go until Sunderland face Leicester at the King Power Stadium on August 8th. Lens told the Chronicle: Its my third time working with Dick Advocaat, and Ive had good periods with him. At PSV I reached by own personal goalscoring record, 15 in one season. So I hope I will do the same now, or score even more. Hes a good manager who tries to get the best out of his players. I have two or three weeks before the season starts and I will try to adapt as fast as possible. For me, this is the start of a great dream, so Im looking forward to it.
