Swansea Transfer News: Wilfried Bony Deal To Be Completed Today

West Ham were also interested in the impressive Ivorian, who finished last season as the Netherland's top goalscorer with 31 goals in 30 Eredivisie appearances, but Swansea have won the race and Bony will join fellow new recruits Jonjo Shelvey, Alejandro Pozuelo, Jose Canas, Jordi Amat, Gregor Zabret and Alex Gogic at the Liberty Stadium. Midfielder Jonathan de Guzman has also rejoined the Welsh outfit for a second, season-long loan from Villarreal. The heavy investment in the squad is a show of support by club bosses for manager Laudrup, who has said in the past that new acquisitions would have to be brought in over the summer in order to build on the successes of last season. Swansea won the Capital One Cup back in February - beating the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea along the way - before recording the biggest cup-final win in the competition's history by dismantling Bradford 5-0 at Wembley. Laudrup's side also rounded off an impressive season by securing 9th place in the Premier League and will enter the Europa League next season.
