10. Kazushi "The Gracie Hunter" Sakuraba

A long time ago, there was a mystical family who thought it was an amazing idea to showcase their unique fighting style. That family was called the Gracies and their style, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In 1994, they went to a man called Art Davie and asked to help set up a tournament that consisted of many different fighting styles. They agreed and the Ultimate Fighting Championship was at it's inception. The Gracies sent their representative, Royce Gracie, to show off their style to the world. At that first event everyone was astounded. This toothpick of a man was throwing 300 pound men on their back and making them tap to alien like holds. No one had ever seen anything like it. For years the Gracies were the kings of the mountain. They couldn't be touched. Anybody who came close to them had their limbs snapped or the oxygen to their brain cut off. Then in 1999, that all changed. The Gracies ran into a man named Kazushi Sakuraba. Royler Gracie was the first victim. Saku fought him and wrenched an elbow lock on him. Royler wasn't going to tap so the referee stopped the fight. A legendary rivalry was born. Royce Gracie was next. Royce was the most well known of all the Gracies at the time because of his exposure from the UFC. With revenge on his mind, Royce challenged Saku to a fight. He made any rule he could think of to give him an advantage over Saku. It turns out that he his rule set became a major disadvantage. For an hour and a half, Saku bruised, battered, humiliated, jumped on, and punished Royce anyway he could. He even pulled Royce's gi over his head. Royce's corner had to throw in the towel to save him from any more embarrassment Then, just like that, the mystery of the Gracies had ended. It didn't end there though. Renzo Gracie called him out to a fight. He believed he could bring honor back to his families name. He thought wrong because Saku snapped his arm in half with a Kimura. Ryan Gracie was next, then he failed. After Ryan's loss, the Gracies decided to stop going after Saku because it just ended in disaster for them. Finally in 2007, Royce asked for a rematch. He won but tested positive for steroids after the fight. Ralek Gracie was the final Gracie to fight Saku. At that point Saku was an old man who couldn't fight anymore. That didn't stop him from almost submitting Ralek. He was close to, but for some reason the referee stopped the fight to fix Ralek's shorts. And with that, Saku's one shot at winning was gone and he lost the decision. It doesn't matter about those two losses, Saku solidified himself as a MMA legend after that rivalry and his nickname was quite appropriate.
