City were already running rampant against Newcastle after a sixth minute header from David Silva and a host of chances for the sky blues. But after just 21 minutes, a delightful backheel from Edin Dzeko found Sergio Aguero, who from a seemingly impossible angle found the back of the net off this inside of the post. Newcastle defender Steven Taylor, who was later dismissed for a foul on Aguero, seemed favorite to win the ball back for the Magpies, but Aguero's burst of acceleration freed him, allowing the Argentine to pull the trigger and leave Newcastle keeper Tim Krul will little chance of keeping the score at 1-0.
