West Brom vs Liverpool - Hoping To Find A Rose At The Hawthorns...

th in the league, winless, and even though they will most probably enter this game as favourites, that is far from the full story. Liverpool were rolled over at The Hawthorns on the opening day, much being decided by the red card to Daniel Agger, but Liverpool still seemed second best in large parts. Although Brendan Rodgers can draw on many positives from another exuberant performance on Sunday against Manchester United, Liverpool€™s old age problem has always been performing to the same standard against what are known as the €œsmaller teams€. With more injuries hitting the squad, Rodgers has lost one of his only two well known strikers in Fabio Borini, meaning firepower is at an all time low, even for Liverpool. Many fans will ask, where are the goals coming from? With Rodgers likely to jig his team around a bit, bearing in mind they take on Norwich in the league 3 days later in a must win game, youth is likely to come to the forefront once again. Players such as Wisdom, Suso and Coates should all get their starts, and rightly so, but it is further up the pitch where the questions need answering. Maybe Rodgers will start Suarez in hope for a goal for the lad, or maybe he won€™t. The loss of Jonjo Shelvey to suspension causing Rodgers yet another headache, with Nuri Sahin likely to deputise. I wouldn€™t go as far as saying Liverpool can defend this cup, but winning on Wednesday night will give them a much needed confidence boost and Rodgers first victory in a domestic competition. The pressure is on, and this is what sets apart the men from the boys.
