West Ham have struggled defensively lately, despite looking quite good earlier in the season, and it seems logical that they may wish to add to their defensive options, despite already adding Roger Johnson to their squad during this window. The team has conceded 30 goals this season from their 21 games, and will know how important it is to improve if they want to reverse their negative goal difference (-9). Im assuming that the Hammers will be spending most of their transfer budget on attacking options, so recruiting from the Championship on the defence seems to be a sensible option.
