West Ham vs Chelsea: Player Ratings

West Ham

Jussi Jaaskelainen: Brought down Oscar for the penalty, but played into trouble. Saved an Eto'o chip, but picked the ball out of his net three times. Is Big Sam's evergreen and faithful retainer finally showing signs of his age? 5/10.

Guy Demel: Terrible back pass resulted in Chelsea penalty. Set the tone dismal Hammers display. Must do better and is suffering from a lack of competition for his place. 3.5/10. James Tomkins: Panicky headers up rather out of defence in the build-up to the opening goal. Where oh where was the composure on the ball we have come to expect from the West Ham academy graduate? 4.5/10. James Collins: Got suckered out of defence and turned by Hazard for the second. Deserted Oscar and so he scored. An experienced centre half made to look a complete fool. Makes you wonder why Wales recalled him. Big Sam needs Winston Reid back ASAP. 4/10. Joey O'Brien: One of two right-footed left backs on the bench, but another of Allardyce's faithful retainers who did not himself any favours here. Failed to mark Ramires playing nominally wide right. 4.5/10.
