Regardless of the South American disadvantage, who would seriously write off Spain from breaking the records this summer? Throughout the European championships of 2012 they were criticised for not playing a typical number 9 centre forward and they completely dismantled Italy in the final. The goal which really epitomised Spain's tournament was the Jordi Alba goal. The then-Valencia Left Back played one of the 1000 passes Xavi received that night and sprinted like Usain Bolt through the heart of the Italian defence, Xavi predictably played the perfect through ball and Jordi was left with a simple finish. Whats the point in Fernando Torres standing up front when your left back makes runs like that? The quality of Spain's squad is unquestionable. The experience of Casillas, Puyol, Pique, Ramos, Xavi, Iniesta & Busquets should be enough to form a World Cup challenging side, but with in form players like Javi Martinez, Jesus Navas, Thiago, Fabregas, Negredo, Diego Costa & Pedro, Spain surely have the strongest squad flying to Brazil. Personally, even in South America I will be backing Spain to at least reach the final at The Estádio do Maracanã. Player to watch: Diego Costa Athletico Madrid
I'm Aaron from England and I've got for football what Russell Brand had for sex and heroin. I follow Celtic & Barcelona religiously and spend hours watching the majority of televised games. Kinda depressing when you write it down but i'm happy with my existence.
