Vincent Kompany has endured occasionally troubling times with Manchester City in recent months, with injury keeping him out of the side for six successive games at one stage. And when he was on the sidelines, you could tell he wasn't playing because he really does make a huge difference to City at the back. The powerful Belgian has been a rock for the Citizens and a cornerstone of which much of their successes have been built upon over the last three years. Widely regarded as the Premier League's best centre-back, Kompany was included in the Premier League Team of the Year for two years in a row in 2011 and 2012, and it would be a small travesty were he to be overlooked in FIFPro's World XI as he was last year.
