10 Greatest Ship Entrances In Star Trek

9. Klingon Cleave Ship - Battle Of The Binary Stars

Frankly, either of the entrances by the Klingon Cleave Ship could have made this list. However, their second appearance was more triumphant, whereas this first was devastating to a whole new level. The poor USS Europa really didn't see this one coming.

I'll get my coat.

After arriving on the scene to rescue the Shenzhou at the last possible second, it looks as though the Europa is there to save the day. Admiral Brett Anderson contacts T'Kuvma to see if an end can be brought to hostilities. Things look like they might, just for a moment, be going well - and then the Klingons give their response.

Anderson, mid-holographic call to Georgiou, starts to flicker, before fading out entirely. As the scene cuts to space, the front of the Europa's hull starts to implode, seemingly being sucked further and further inside itself - until the massive Cleave Ship decloaks, effectively serving as a giant sword in space.

Anderson wastes no time - he orders the evacuation of his ship, then sets the vessel to self-destruct. It evidently doesn't destroy the Klingon ship, but it does buy time for the crew to escape.

Much like the rest of The Battle Of The Binary Stars, this was a hell of a way to introduce Star Trek: Discovery.
