10 Best Gotham Episodes

1. The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies

"Wanna have some fun before the main event?"

The Gentle Art of Making Enemies is number one for so many reasons. The dynamic alone, between Jerome and Bruce, is completely electric, and the whole carnival scene is so aesthetically pleasing. Jerome Valeska's whole demeanour and attitude is a mixture of charisma and danger. This is the episode that you could recommend to someone who hasn't seen the series, and get them completely hooked and wanting more. As for veterans? It's the episode to watch when you need a true taste of what Gotham is about. It's so well-executed, and exciting to talk about and discuss with other fans of the show.

In this episode, you start to see Bruce's future as Batman emerging from those dark shadows, the fight in the house of mirrors is so iconic. Bruce is about to stab Jerome through the throat with a piece of glass, but as soon as he catches his reflection in the mirror, he stops. Bruce knows that he can't cross that line, and it's always been Batman's number one rule: thou shall not kill.

The performances are absolutely stellar, the characterisations are on point, and it's hard to find an episode that beats this one. The Gentle Art of Making Enemies is definitely 10/10.
