10 Best Villainous Voice Actors In The DC Animated Universe

7. David Warner - Ra's Al Ghul

Lex Luthor Justice League Unlimited
Warner Bros.

Ra's al Ghul was another unusual member of Batman's rogues gallery, more given to psychological games and power-building then trying to physically overpower Batman (although he was not above swinging a sword when the mood struck him).

In the comics, Ra's would endlessly intertwine himself into Bruce's life, including resurrecting Jason Todd and being partially responsible for creating Bruce's son, Damian (the newest Robin).

Warner played Ra's as a peer to Batman, one who often seemed to be a step ahead of Bruce. He wasn't a typical Gotham street thug, and Warner's polished tones let him portray Ra's as a cunning and manipulative power broker. When needed, however, he could just as easily give voice to Ra's' deadly, violent side, as demonstrated when the Head of the Demon would take his periodic baths in a Lazarus Pit and emerge as a temporarily mindless psychopath.

Ra's al Ghul has always been portrayed as having a deep respect for Batman, considering him one of his only equals. Warner's sympathetic exchanges with Kevin Conroy illustrated this, bringing just the right touch of pathos to the character and making you believe that this centuries-old man truly did regret some of the choices he had made during his many lives.
