10 Breaking Bad Characters Who Play Smaller, But Crucial Roles
2. Jane Margolis
You can't underestimate the impact Jane Margolis has on the series, and Jesse in particular when it comes to the entire Breaking Bad story.
She's the one who influences Jesse to go down a path of using heroin, but she's also the one who captures his heart and opens the audience up the raw emotion Jesse feels throughout season two.
Her death is as important as any death in the series, proving that Walt will indeed do anything he can to look after his own interests and keep Jesse firmly on his side.
Her passing is also responsible for the big air crash over Alberquerque as her Dad fails to do his job as an air traffic controller, bringing devastation and heartbreak to the community.
Jane was so important to Jesse's character in Breaking Bad. She was the first one to genuinely make the viewer feel sorry for him and she was also one of a few people willing to directly take Walt on.
Her death continues to play on Jesse throughout the series and when Walt reveals to him in the desert that he did indeed sit and watch her die, it's an utter moment of devastation to witness.
