10 Buffy The Vampire Slayer And Angel Plots That Were Never Resolved
1. Kate Lockley
This may be the most egregious dropped storyline from the entire run of Angel. Kate Lockley, the detective-turned-reluctant ally, turned-foe of Angel Investigations. Elizabeth Rohm starred as the sometime-broken cop, trying to remain at the peak of her job while also struggling with her father and struggling to come to terms with discovering the supernatural side of LA.
Kate had a dark journey in the first two seasons of Angel, sinking further and further, following the death of her father at the hands of Vampire associates. She blamed Angel for this, despite the fact that he couldn't have prevented the murder without being invited into her father's apartment.
From that point on, she was openly hostile toward him, while chasing up any leads on any potentially supernatural cases in or out of her juristiction. This very hunt leads to her being fired from the force, as her superiors attempt to cover up some of the crimes of one of their own. Again, she blames Angel for this, although this time she goes further, downing a bottle of pills.
Angel rushes to her, saves her life and then later they share, if not a reconcilliation, then a greater understanding of their place in the fight. As Kate reminds Angel - she never invited him into her apartment, so he shouldn't have been able to save her.
This opened the door to the greater scale of the fight against evil and Angel's place in it. However, this was the last time the audience got to see Kate - a pure crime in itself. This, if nothing else, was a storyline that deserved further exploration.
