10 Doctor Who Bloopers You Need To See

3. Clara Forgets To Die

As previously mentioned, the last few years of Doctor Who have been disappointingly light on bloopers, with none of the gag reels that were a staple of the first few years of the 2005 revival.

But again, there are a couple of great ones that have been released, like this brilliant blunder from the Series 9 episode Face the Raven, which involves a living, breathing raven, and Jenna Coleman forgetting what to do.

As explained by Coleman, Doctor Who actors usually have to react to events and creatures that aren't actually there during filming. But in this case, they had a real bird to perform the stunt wherein Clara Oswald is killed, and falls to the floor.

But because Coleman was so focused on hitting her mark for the bird to fly towards, she completely forgot to react. In her own words, she "forgot to die."

One can imagine that trying to stay focused on your performance while a real raven is flying straight for you is a difficult thing to do, and that's exactly what Coleman discovered.

On the plus side, this screw-up did give us the glorious clip of Peter Capaldi flapping like a bird behind his co-star. Look at him go! Capaldi is such a good actor that he could've probably played the raven as well.

Sometimes you hear my voice, sometimes you see my face and sometimes you read my words! But I’m usually away with the faeries and timelords! ?‍♀️

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
