10 Forgotten Classic Cartoons That Need To Return

1. Dexter's Laboratory

71823_1208852957388_full Created, directed, written and produced by the talented Genndy Tartakovsky in a broken four-year run, Dexter's Laboratory grasps the frustration of precocious intellectual maturity with thick, rubbery, insulated science gloves and holds on for dear life, as the resulting maelstrom of Dexter's efforts to rectify any perceived injustice with unbridled science quickly threaten dire consequence. Life in general - and his sister Deedee in particular - are a constant source of grating and age-appropriate aggravation which, Dexter reasons, should hypothetically be quickly dealt with by bombarding the problem with imaginative invention. Predictably, mayhem often ensues €“ except when a tumbleweed-strewn absence of mayhem better demonstrates comedic effect. Dexter is a consummate practitioner of exploratory science; glad to subject himself, and anyone foolish enough to present him with a conundrum, to the full force of whatever his intellect devises. What knows an approximately seven-year-old boy of experimental ethics? And yet the character is not without morals or sense of right and wrong; quick to express regret should he unleash widespread destruction, he strives to repair the damage. In reality, he'd like nothing better to just be left to his own devices. It's just that those devices happen to be things like a series of superpowered robotic simulants of his mother, or a rocket-powered brace capable of moving the moon. To simultaneously champion the worth of science to the world, and warn against its unfettered misuse, we need this series to return €“ and the sooner the better. Like this list?
