The entirety of The Red Wedding was a vicious massacre as Robb Stark's forces were brutally betrayed and murdered. Men were stabbed, hung, decapitated, dragged by horses or burned alive as Robb Stark's head was cut off and replaced with that of his wolf in grim mockery. Fans of the book series expected all this, but perhaps the most brutal death of the wedding was that of Talisa, Robb's pregnant wife. Talisa was a character made for the show as D.B. Weiss and David Benioff loosely adapted Robb's marriage. Talisa became pregnant with Robb's heir, further adding salt to the Frey's wounds as they hoped one of their own would have that honour and the Frey's do not take insults lightly. In a shocking departure from the books, one of the Frey's walks up behind Talisa and repeatedly stabs her in the uterus, effectively killing both her and the unborn child. She was the first to die in the infamous Red Wedding. Talisa and Eddard Jr., as the baby might have been known, top the list because of the level of cruelty involved. Attentive viewers are careful to see that Talisa also doesn't die immediately from her wounds, but dies slowly on the floor as Robb desperately crawls towards her. Their deaths are a harsh reminder no one is safe on Game of Thrones.
