10 Irresistible TV Spin-Offs That Need To Happen

7. Nightwing

Nightwing I'm changing tact with this one. It would serve as a spin off from a film, not a TV show. That film, I'm talking about is The Dark Knight Rises. While we had closure on Bruce Wayne's story, there were some tantilising open-ended moments for the future of Gotham beyond the trilogy. The main one being John Blake's discovery of the Batcave. There is the suggestion that he will take on the mantle of Batman or become the Robin we all know of. But what is this film serves as the starting point for a Nightwing TV series? Arrow has proven a big success this year and I rather enjoy it. Partly it's because I know very little about the character so I enjoy from a fresh perspective each week. Its also what I was looking for in Smallville. (I finally gave up after seven years and then heard it got better). Like Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy (and indeed most comic book movies), Arrow has taken the source material as inspiration with new interpretations of characters. A Nightwing series could do the same in one of two ways: 1) You pay big bucks to get Jospeh Gordon-Levitt to reprise his character, using the technology from the Bat cave to create a new superhero identity, Nighwing, using the character from the comics as inspiration. 2) You get him for the pilot for continuity, introduce the character of Dick Grayson and have him become Nightwing. Arrow has shown that superhero shows can flourish on TV if done right. (And I'm fairly certain Marvel's Agents Of Shield will follow suit). This would be a great to continue the world of Nolan's Batman trilogy - potentially even linked to Arrow's Starling City? With Batman being re-imagined for the new Superman vs Batman film, this would be the last chance to use the Nolan-verse version of Batman.
