She has been named the nation's sweetheart, has had two number albums and won the X Factor twice. Cheryl Cole owes her solo career to her time on the X Factor and that is unquestionable. She paved the way for other band members to use a judging position to throttle them into the big league. We're looking at you Tulisa. Cheryl was part of the UK's biggest girl band, Girls Aloud for ten years. She was not the strongest singer, but had a the most fiery personality and unmatched dance ability in the group. This caught the eye of Simon Cowell and in 2008 she took a seat on the X Factor UK panel that changed her life forever. Immediately Cheryl struck a chord with the audience. She was unbelievably relatable, exudes compassion and was gorgeous to look at and listen to. Her critique was coming from someone who has been a contestant herself, which gave a unique perspective to the talent show world. She rocked some brilliant fashion choices during the live shows and her on air working relationship with Simon Cowell was unforgettable. Cheryl will also be remembered as a career savvy woman, who took herself from a girl-bander, to a solo artist with number 1 singles an albums. That Fight For This Love performance was iconic, as was the outfit. But I feel like Cheryl will always be known for her the special touch she had with contestants. It was very personal - the wiping away of tears, the endless hugs and as this video below shows, even lending a helping hand during auditions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsqWn3OIahI
