10 Incredible Ways The Simpsons & Family Guy Could Cross Over

5. Quahog Is Actually A Recreation Of A 21st Century Town In A Future Amusement Park.

This one allows for a third, surprise crossover with Futurama. The Simpsons are transported to New New York in 3014, and discover that not only are they characters on a TV show that is still running, but also the inspiration for an exhibition that has recreated a small American Town. In each storyline the Simpson characters are shown around the future by a kind of 'spirit guide' character from Futurama. Fry shows Homer the Quahog theme park, where he discovers that, unable to buy the rights from 30th Century Fox, the park's developers instead used him and his family as the basis for their own characters: Peter Griffin and his family. Peter is similar to Homer but with more hair, and he has a talking dog, which is confusing to Homer, but as he learns, genetically modified talking dogs are apparently abundant in the future. Homer leaves the Quahog theme park to round-up the rest of his family, and show them how they are being ripped off. They are all in the midst of their own future adventures, but reluctantly join Homer. A confrontation between the Simpsons and Griffin clans ensues, but all is resolved and catastrophe averted, when Professor Farnsworth reveals that, inspired by the success of the Quahog Park, Fox has created their own Springfield Park. He suggests the Simpsons offer their services as inhabitants, knowing that Fox would welcome a chance to save the money they would have spent on genetic replicas. Normality is restored as the Simpsons move into Evergreen Terrace, and settle down in front of the TV.
