10 Mind-Blowing Facts You Didn't Know About X-Men: Evolution

1. The Final Moments Of The Show Allude To A Ton Of Unused Characters And Storylines

X-Men Evolution
Marvel

Evolution ends with a speech by Professor X where he comments on several glimpses of the X-Men's future he had while being psychically linked with immortal blue bad guy Apocalypse. Many of the examples shown relate to characters or storylines the creators never had a chance to tackle.

Anti-mutant hatred grows, leading to the Sentinel program, including future Sentinels like Nimrod. This hatred would have grown even more after the Dark Phoenix incidents, which were lined up for season five's story arc.

The team lineup would change. The current members of the show plus X-23, Beast, the formerly evil Colossus and Rogue with a new powerset would join the team, dressed in dark costumes similar to the movies. Magneto joins the X-Men at the school, training the students who would become the New Mutants.

SHIELD would assemble a questionable strike-team team of evil mutants, called Freedom Force in the comics.

Opposing them and other threats, in Charles' final vision, was a fully assembled X-Men roster including the core team, the New Mutants, and virtually every good mutant introduced during the course of the show, ready to carry on the fight.

While the production team certainly didn't want Evolution to end, at least they were given a chance to wrap the show up on a positive note with some hope for the future X-Men.
