2. Marvel Killed The Show Because They Didn't Want To Put Any More Resources Into It
Despite the success of Evolution, which was renewed three times after its initial season - and the fantastic job the production team did building a world and mythos of Evolution over four years - executives at Marvel didn't feel like the show was good enough to continue past its already shortened fourth season.
Members of the production crew have repeatedly said that the higher-ups at Marvel were never really behind the series, which, died because new funding arrangements beyond the $350,000 per month couldn't be arrived at.
Evolution's creators were doubly insulted due to the fact that not only was their show the ignored younger sibling to the movies, but Marvel had no problem adopting what they liked from the show and making it part of the main Marvel Universe.
X-23 / Laura, was put into a very poorly received comics storyline at almost the same time she first appeared on screen, enraging her fans. Elements of the character Spyke were adopted for several other characters in both comics and the X-Men movies.
Evolution's crew, understandably, was not happy.
