10 More Great TV Shows Cancelled After Just One Season
1. Undeclared (2001)
Judd Apatow couldn’t catch a break with his TV shows in the early 00s. After the cancellation of Freaks and Geeks, the writer went on to create Undeclared, a sitcom that followed the same sad path. The show is a genuine cult classic, set in the early 00s (Unlike Freaks and Geeks which placed itself in the 80s) Undeclared starred a young Charlie Hunnam as well as Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel. There were loads of comedy stars who made cameos and guest spots such as Ben Stiller, Amy Poehler, Kevin Hart, Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler.
Apatow is one of comedy’s defining writers this generation, bringing to life The 40 Year Old Virgin, Get Him To the Greek and This is 40, and Undeclared showcases his ability to write hilarious, awkward and charming characters.
Unfortunately the show launched right after 9/11 and in a period which Apatow describes as a weird moment for comedy, fortunately, Undeclared is available to stream in its entirety on YouTube, something which Apatow implores you to do. Go check what all the hype is about and why we lost it way before its time.
