10 More Most Paused Star Trek Moments

1. THE Facepalm

Picard facepalm
CBS

In what is perhaps the ultimate in paused moments in Star Trek, this second in the Next Generation has not only spawned its own meme but an entire internet following where Picard's moment of exasperation has been used to explain just how frustrated the user can be.

It is completely unsurprising that, in the show, it was Q who put Picard in a facepalm mood. In the third season episode Deja Q sees the trickster appear nude aboard the Enterprise's bridge, stripped of his powers and everything else. Picard knows exactly how much of a headache this being can bring, so the hand goes up and the internet had a reaction gif for the ages.

There would be different versions of the movement in future episodes, including the Drumhead and one that Riker joined in one as well, but this will always be the first and funniest moment to have been paused on a man's fatigue in the franchise.
